Description

The DT972 Apollo XP95 is an intrinsically safe addressable heat detector. It should be used together with the PT971 or PT972 protocol translator, as well as a GBX70 barrier when installed in an explosive environment.
IS Temperature Detectors
The DT972 Apollo XP95 Intrinsically Safe Heat Detector uses a low air-flow resistant case for good contact between the sensing thermistor and the surrounding air. Temperature is measured by a single thermistor that gives a voltage output proportional to the external air temperature. The signal is processed and transmitted to the control equipment.
Operating Principles
The intrinsically safe heat detectors have a common profile with optical smoke detectors, but have a low airflow resistance case made of self-extinguishing, white polycarbonate. It has identical performance to standard (non IS) temperature detectors in the range.
Unique Addressing
A unique, patented addressing method provides simple, user-friendly and accurate identification of monitor location whereby a coded card, inserted in the base, is read by any monitor as it is plugged in. All the electronic components are in the detector, but the location information is held in the base.
Addressing errors during maintenance and service are eliminated. Pre-coded and pre-numbered address cards are also available. These address cards simplify and speed up installation and commissioning.
The base for the IS device range is not identical to the standard range. This ensures that standard detectors cannot be accidentally fitted into an explosive area.
